Tips

Most personal finance apps ask the user for manual data: Enter your expenses, select categories, upload CSVs, connect your bank, grant permissions... The list is endless. When we designed Clint, we decided: "People are already spending money, and there's a trail of it in emails. So why not use it?"

Financial emails are already the most trusted source of data in the world

When you make a payment, when a subscription renews or when a banking transaction takes place, the first place that is verified is your email. This data provides the following:

  • History

  • Amount

  • Seller

  • Currency

  • Plan and package details

  • Subscription renewal information

  • Invoice or receipt links

Simplicity offered to the user: 👉 Years of spending history on a single screen without doing anything.

Why did we start with Gmail?

  • It is the platform with the highest financial e-mail usage rate in Turkey and the world.

  • Strong ecosystem, developer tools and security frameworks.

  • We can make a fully controlled and transparent integration with Google OAuth + scope permissions.

Inside the machine: How does Clint process email?

  1. Classification - Determines if the email has financial content.

  2. Extraction - Information such as amount, vendor, date, currency is extracted.

  3. Deduplication - Duplicate invoices are eliminated with 768-dim embedding + 85% similarity threshold.

  4. Normalization and Categorization - Vendor names are normalized and categorized.

Result: 👉 The user sees a 100% accurate, cleaned, understandable version of their financial history.

What about security? What do you connect to my Gmail and look at?

We've prepared a very long and non-technical Clint API Transparency Statement on this subject, but it's very clear what our intentions are. We can guarantee that you'll feel at ease when you take a look at it.
