Users, their needs and behaviors

Product Update

Users, their needs and behaviors are diverse. The claim of making products that cover everyone and everything is only realistic on paper. The story is about setting the right priorities and addressing them in the right order. That's why product development is a bit of an art and a bit of a craft, as choosing and expressing the right things is highly subjective.
On the road we set out on for expense and subscription tracking, Clint's users include those who use different e-mail addresses for their invoices, store all their invoices in different folders, keep invoices in more than one e-mail provider, and even tell their service providers "don't send invoices". All of these are "optimum" solutions that users implement to make their lives easier. Our goal is to integrate Clint into their lives and solutions as effortlessly as possible. To take the burden of invoice tracking off them without asking or expecting them to change their behavior.
Of course, this is only the invoice side of the business. Card statements, receipts, handouts and more; there are countless steps to be taken to increase inclusivity in expense tracking and provide a complete x-ray. We are aware of this. And we're only at the very beginning.
Our goal is to determine the "right" priorities together during the beta process and add the "necessary" features to Clint in the right order. We chose to start from the invoice, to present a preview of what we can do through the invoice. We will move forward as we progress, as the users make us feel and convey to us that what we have done is proof of what we will do. We won't be able to add features like there's no tomorrow; we won't close our ears and say "it's done, it's good, the user should click" and we won't be passionate about our assumptions. Hopefully, step by step, phase by phase, we will control our expenses in a broader framework.
Let me end with a Clintsel and personal status report while I'm at it: The total number of invoices we have processed is 3500 at the moment. In the last 30 days, ~30% of my spending was subscription based.
