Clint Privacy Notice

1. Introduction

Clint ("we", "our" or "us") operates an online service that helps you identify and analyze subscription and finance related emails in your Gmail inbox. This Privacy Notice explains the types of information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

Disclosure: Clint's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google Accounts will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information when you use Clint: Account Data and Gmail Data.

Account Data: When you sign up via your Google account, we collect your name and email address to create your Clint profile. We do not request postal addresses or phone numbers.

Gmail Data: Upon your explicit authorization, Clint requests readonly access to your Gmail messages. We use this access to locate subscription and finance-related emails (such as bills or invoices) and extract relevant information. We do not alter or delete any messages. Clint only connects to Gmail and does not access any other email providers. We retrieve only messages we believe contain subscription or finance-related information. If unrelated emails are inadvertently fetched, you can remove them and we will refine our filters. We collect no financial document attachments unless they are part of subscription or finance-related emails, and we use them solely to deliver the service.

Usage Data and Cookies: We record standard technical data, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamp, to maintain and improve Clint. Clint uses cookies (session, preference, and security cookies) to operate securely and remember your settings. You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so may limit functionality.

3. How We Use Your Information

Clint uses your information to:

• Identify and categorize subscription and finance related emails, generate summaries, and provide dashboards tailored to your needs.
• Maintain and improve our service; monitor usage; and detect or fix issues.
• Communicate with you about updates, support requests, and changes to our service.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We never sell or rent your personal data. We do not use your Gmail data to build or train generalized AI or machine learning models.

4. How We Access, Store and Share Gmail Data

Access: The Gmail authorization grants us readonly access. We filter for relevant messages and minimize the data retrieved. Clint cannot write, delete or modify your emails.

Storage: Emails and extracted data are stored securely on encrypted servers. We follow industry best practices by using reputable cloud providers with bank-level encryption.

Sharing: By default, we do not share your Gmail data with third parties except (i) trusted service providers necessary for operations (e.g., cloud hosting), (ii) legal requests, or (iii) when you choose to export or share data. We give you explicit control over sharing; if you don't choose to share, no data is disclosed.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only while your Clint account is active. You can close your Clint account at any time through your profile page, which deletes all data stored by us, including Gmail-sourced data. Deletion is irreversible and does not affect emails stored in your Gmail account.

6. Transfer of Data

Your data may be processed on servers outside of your jurisdiction. By using Clint, you consent to such transfer, provided that adequate safeguards are in place.

7. Legal Requirements & Disclosure

We may disclose your information if required to comply with legal obligations, to protect our rights, to prevent fraud or abuse of the service, or to respond to lawful requests.

8. Security

We implement administrative, technical and physical safeguards (including encryption in transit and at rest) to protect your data. While we strive to use commercially acceptable measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes to our practices or regulatory requirements. Material changes will be posted on this page and communicated via email or in-app notification before becoming effective.
